The best thing for my creative process is a deadline.

The Process

This defined five-step process will keep things moving along.
Focus and flexibility are key to moving the work forward.
Each business and each project comes with its own unique rhythm.
This is a blueprint of that rhythm.

1. The Initial Consultation

A critical first step: We review your goals for the project and identify products and services to meet them.
This is scheduled as a 30 minute call.
If you are still considering your next action, we will work through identifying the best activities to reach your goals.
You will get a report with notes from the meeting and initial recommendations or agreements.
This identifies the next steps.

2. Proposal: Creation and Submission

Your proposal lists products and services identified as key to your project and are valid for 30 days.
Non-disclosure agreements are acceptable in most cases.
Payment of the deposit recognizes acceptance of the proposal and commits the schedule including delivery dates for draft and final versions.

3. Proposal Accepted, Work Begins

The Creative Brief is a tool to start with. It provides a clear goal and gives focus to the work. Approval from the principal stakeholders is recommended.
Research begins and supporting product documentation is collected.

4. Drafts, Edits and Revisions

Drafts are submitted for review and approval.
All copy is verified as original with references and citations as appropriate.

Grammar, spelling and style elements are always reviewed, providing you with the most compelling piece possible.
5. Project Complete
All deliverables are submitted and accepted, ownership of files and content is transferred to you.
Any other changes or future updates can be made freely, and the copy can be utilized elsewhere.
Final invoices are submitted at this time.
Then we talk about the next one.

Why use this process?
Why hire a professional?

The short answer: Because technical marketing collateral should truly connect your customer to your product.
Get a consultation
This is critical to your decision to hire a technical copywriter.
You need persuasive writing that will engage and educate your customer about your product.

Look for someone who can write sales copy.
Real. Sales. Copy.

Sales copywriting isn't just content. It makes a real connection with your customer.
More importantly, it makes your customer want to have a connection to you and your product. You copy should compel the right customers to call you.

With the explosion of information available today, whoever makes the relationship makes the sale. Writing that makes a connection is different. At the end of the day it is always about a customer relationship.

I'm in the technical writing business to sell things. I'm looking for clients in the selling business to write things for.
Would that be you?
